Question:
I'm a Botswana citizen, I'm planning on completing my English Teaching Certificate (CELTA) in the next few months and I have a few questions I was hoping you can help me with:
1. Are there any specific citizenship requirements (eg: US, UK, Australia,Canadian Passport...etc) for getting a work permit as an English teacher in Vietnam?
2. My passport is from Botswana. I've got a Bachelors Degree, Clean Criminal Check etc, I'm Just worried that my passport will mean I can't get a valid work permit for teaching English if I manage to get a job?
3. Will I need to leave Vietnam to renew my Work Permit or to change jobs? Or can this too be done from within Vietnam?

With the citizenship of Botswana, you can obtain work permit for teaching English in Vietnam. However, you must present documents proving that you have experience in the field of teaching English before coming Vietnam. 5 years of experience is highly appreciated.

No. You do not need to leave Vietnam for renewing your Work Permit.
