In order to provide the public with general information of the geographical indications currently protected in Vietnam as well as to meet requirements of local provinces, the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam (NOIP) has recently launched the trial version of Distribution Map of products bearing GIs of Vietnam in the form of flash on the NOIP’s homepage. Each PGI is indicated by a corresponding number including information of the GI name, name of product, registration number, geographical area, GIs administration organization, quality control organization, producers/businesses association for GI product, Organization/individuals granted with certificate for rights to use the geographical indication and image of the product. Each GI will be regularly updated with supplemented information to satisfy the demands of viewers. In order to better the Map, the NOIP hope to receive comments from all viewers regarding the form and content of the Map before it is designed and completed by GIS technology.
