Question:
I have registered a household business in Can Tho City. As my business is expanding, I would like to apply for another household business license in An Giang. What procedures must I follow to register this new household business?
Answer:
According to Article 82 of Decree No. 168/2025/NĐ-CP dated June 30, 2025, of the Government, regarding the right to establish a household business, an individual or members of a household have the right to register the establishment of a household business and shall be personally liable with all their assets for the business activities of such household business.
However, Clause 1, Article 83 of the same Decree clearly stipulates that:
“An individual or a household member as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 82 of this Decree is only permitted to register one household business within the entire territory of Vietnam.”
In this case, since the applicant has already registered a household business in Can Tho, the application for another household business registration in An Giang does not meet the eligibility conditions for issuance of a Certificate of Household Business Registration.
