Paying salary for employees working in the household in Vietnam

Pursuant to Article 15 of Decree 27/2014/ND-CP: The level of wages is agreed by both employer and domestic servants and must be written in the labor contract.

The wage (including the living cost if employees live with the family) must not fall below the minimum wages imposed by the government.

Employers and employees shall negotiate the monthly living cost, provided it does not exceed 50% of the wage in the labor contract.

Pursuant to regulations mentioned above, subsidies, allowances apart from the salary such as fees for traveling in work time, fees for buying clothes…..will be paid by employers. The responsibilities of the employer for this problem is not stipulated in Vietnames laws.
