On April 14, 2024, the Ministry of Labor - War Invalids and Social Affairs issued Notice No. 1570/TB-BLDTBXH on the proposal to exchange working days for the holiday of Reunification Day April 30 and International Labor Day May 1, 2024 for civil servants, public employees, and workers of state administrative agencies, public service units, and enterprises.
- Civil servants, public employees, and workers of state administrative agencies, public service units (hereinafter referred to as civil servants, public employees) are allowed to exchange working days from Monday (April 29, 2024) to Saturday (May 4, 2024). Thus, for the holiday of Victory Day April 30 and International Labor Day May 1, 2024, civil servants, public employees are allowed to take 5 consecutive days off from Saturday, April 27, 2024 to the end of Wednesday, May 1, 2024 (compensated on Saturday, May 4, 2024).
- Agencies and units that do not implement a fixed schedule of rest on Saturdays and Sundays every week should base on the specific program and plan of the unit to arrange the holiday schedule appropriately, in accordance with the provisions of the law.
- It is encouraged for enterprises to apply the holiday time of Victory Day April 30 and International Labor Day May 1, 2024 for workers as stipulated for civil servants, public employees but ensure full implementation of regimes for workers as prescribed by law, encourage agreements that are more beneficial for workers.
