Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Hà and Mr. Trần Trung Kiên, S&B Law

The practice of law in Vietnam is a young and rapidly growing profession, with the current number of some 5000 registered lawyers expected to grow to 20,000 by 2020 (Justice Partnership Program; Embassy of Denmark, Hà Nội). This lecture will be jointly presented by colleagues at S&B Law, a young firm that advises clients including IBM and Exxon Mobil in Vietnam. Nguyễn Thanh Hà, Managing Partner of S&B Law, has a background in business and trade law. Mr. Hà advises on a diverse range of areas including telecommunication, energy, real estate and intellectual property. Trần Trung Kiên, Partner at S&B Law, has a background in commercial law, and is a former lecturer. His area of specialist practice is intellectual property, especially patents. Together, they will present a general introduction to the law in Vietnam, including its development, influences and principles. This will be followed by a more specific focus on intellectual property and business law. There will be time for questions and discussion.
