With its 15th year of continuing success, on the afternoon of November 28, 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City, VIR (Vietnam Investment Review) held the 15th Vietnam Mergers and Acquisitions Forum (M&A Vietnam Forum 2023) with the theme “Thriving Together”. The forum has by over 500 attendees, including Ms. Trần Mỹ Linh, the Development Director of SBLaw .
To commemorate its 15th anniversary, the forum was organized to celebrate and honor companies with outstanding M&A strategies and M&A advisory firms for 2009-2023. In addition, the forum was also organized to provide businesses with a practical, in-depth, and comprehensive overview of the Vietnamese M&A market.
The opening ceremony of the forum was held with the opening speech of Mr. Le Trong Minh, Editor-in-Chief of VIR, Head of the Organising Board of the forum, and the welcoming speech of Mr. Tran Duy Đong, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment.
The forum was divided into two sessions, including "New Strength for the M&A Market" and "Resonance of Power".
In the session " New Strength for the M&A Market ", moderated by Mr. Seck Yee Chung, Managing Partner of Baker McKenzie, speakers and experts discussed the opportunities for Vietnam in the face of the disruption and rearrangement of the international supply chains, new opportunities for cooperation as foreign capital continues to pour into Vietnam, with the presence of many large-scale corporations, and the prospect of for of international capital flowing into Vietnam through the upcoming M&A channel.
Following the session " New Strength for the M&A Market ", in the session " Resonance of power ", experts and speakers discussed topics including "Why is M&A still a popular investment channel in the context of the difficult, unusual and, unprecedented fluctuations of the global economy?", "What new synergistic value will be created from M&A deals in the new context, and what factors will determine those values?" and many other relevant issues.
Through discussing and listening to the speakers and experts at the forum, the representative of SBLaw acknowledged that capital raising remains a major obstacle for businesses in M&A transactions. Up to this point, SBLaw has also been supporting domestic and foreign businesses with these obstacles.
Continuing 15 years of success from 2009 to 2023, the 2023 Vietnam M&A Forum continued to become a great channel for providing useful information about M&A activities through discussions between representatives of government agencies, business leaders, advisors, and experts from leading law firms in the region
