On March 29, 2024, the Ministry of Science and Technology issued Circular 02/2024/TT-BKHCN on the management of product and goods origin traceability.
- Applicable entities: Organizations and individuals producing, trading, and providing services to implement product and goods origin traceability; organizations and individuals providing services and solutions related to product and goods origin traceability; state management agencies and other organizations and individuals related to the implementation of product and goods origin traceability.
- The circular regulates the management of the use of product traceability codes, location traceability codes, and data carriers, specifically as follows: Organizations and individuals implementing product and goods origin traceability use product traceability codes and location traceability codes that ensure compliance with National Standard TCVN 13274:2020 (Traceability - Guide to formatting codes used in traceability) published by the Ministry of Science and Technology before being put into use.
- Organizations and individuals implementing product and goods origin traceability use data carriers that ensure compliance with National Standard TCVN 13275:2020 (Traceability - Data carrier format) published by the Ministry of Science and Technology. Data carriers are affixed, printed, attached, cast, engraved, directly carved on products, goods, commercial packaging of goods, or on other materials attached to goods, commercial packaging of goods, ensuring that devices can read.
- Data for product and goods origin traceability to serve consumer lookup on the National Product and Goods Origin Traceability Portal includes at least the following information: Product name, goods; product images, goods; name of the production, business unit; address of the production, business unit; production, business time (time of traceability events); brand, trademark, code symbol, serial number of the product (if any); shelf life of the product, goods (if any).
This circular takes effect from June 1, 2024.
